On Sep.14 "The meaning and prospects of the implementation of the General Principles of Civil Law and the New Religious Affairs Ordinance " expert seminar held in our law school, Zhou Yiwen, deputy director of the State Administration of Religious Affairs, Ai Xiao, a director of the Office of Central United Front Work Bureau, Professor Qi Pengfei and Professor Mo Yuchuan and Dean Wang Yi from Renmin University, Professor Wang Yujie and Zhang Fenglei and Zhang Xuesong from Philosophy school, Professor Liu Taigang from Public Administration School, Professor Zhangjian from Continuing Education School, Professor He Husheng from Marxism School, Professor Chen Xinxin from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Liu Chengyou from Central University for Nationalities, Lan Xifen, the chief editor of China Ethnic News, the Chinese Buddhist Association Secretariat and the representatives from Chinese Taoist Association also attended as experts. Professor Feng Yujun chaired this meeting.

Prof. Feng Yujun, on behalf of Professor Wang Liming, Executive Vice President of Renmin University of China, thanked the experts and scholars for their participation and read out some of the letters and calls from participants who cannot present. He pointed out that in 2017 in the cause of religious rule of law will be a big year. On March 15, the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People,s Republic of China was formally adopted by the Fifth Session of the 12th National People,s Congress and came into effect on October 1, 2017. On August 26, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council signed the Order of the State Council and promulgated the newly revised Regulations on Religious Affairs, which came into effect on February 1, 2018. The promulgation and implementation of these two important laws and regulations make our religious legal system more complete, strengthen the management of religious affairs by law, and make the rule of law more secure for the freedom of religious belief of citizens, and enter the comprehensive rule of law for our religious affairs laying the foundation for the development of China,s religious career usher in new opportunities, but also for the legal and religious studies show a more bright future, is an important milestone in the legalization of religious work in China. The implementation of the "two laws" after the promulgation of the issue, it is worthy of the theoretical and practical circles to give more attention, discussion and research.

In the first session "guest speech", the Chinese People,s University Party Committee United Front Work Minister Professor Qi Pengfei gave the first speech, on behalf of the school party committee expressed support for this meeting. Professor Wang Yi, Dean of the School of Law of Renmin University of China, on behalf of Renmin University Law School made a speech. Zhou Yewen, deputy director of the State Administration of Political Science and Law, on behalf of the National Religious Affairs Bureau and the Politics and Law Division attended the seminar.
In the second session, Professor Wang Yujie, vice president of the Philosophy School of the Renmin University of China, said that the new Regulations on Religious Affairs were more refined in many respects than the previous regulations, and the legislation was more standardized and reflected in the Party Central Committee on religion Work of the new ideas, words are also more accurate.

Prof. Zhang Chun, a professor from School of Continuing Education, Renmin University of China, argues that the Regulations on Religious Affairs are instructive for the processing of legal status and property protection in some places such as religious activities.

Professor Liu Taigang of the School of Public Administration, Renmin University of China mentioned that the Regulations on Religious Affairs and the General Principles of Civil Law actually portray the general outline of the donor system.

Professor Mo Yuchuan, an administrative jurist and law school of the People,s University of China, argues that the revision of the Regulations on Religious Affairs is the process of the construction of the rule of law in China from the rough to the fine, and related closely to "Regulations on the United Front Work of the Communist Party of China".
The chairman Prof. Feng Yujun, made a speech that from the perspective of historical development, since the founding of the country, especially reform and opening up nearly 40 years, religious work is the basic track, is a gradual standardization. Then our task is to better implement.

The seminar ended in a warm and harmonious academic atmosphere.
