Professor He Jiahong attended the Conference to the United Nations Convention against Corruption

From November 6th to 10th, 2017, the Conference of the States Parties (Seventh Session) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption was held in Vienna, Austria. The United Nations Convention against Corruption was the first legal document used to guide international anti-corruption in the history of the United Nations. It defined the crime of corruption, stipulated the prevention of corruption, and clarified the illegal assets recovery. It was of great significance for countries to strengthen domestic anti-corruption, improve the effectiveness of anti-corruption and enhance the international cooperation of anti-corruption. In December 10th, 2003, on behalf of China, the delegation of the Ministry of Supervision and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed the Convention.



On October 27th, 2005, the Standing Committee of the National People¡¯s Congress considered and ratified the United Nations Convention against Corruption. In September, 2007, China established the National Bureau for Corruption Prevention in accordance with the requirements of the convention. The supervision minister was also its director.

Invited by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and representing the China Behavioral Law Association, Professor He Jiahong attended the convention as an observer. He listened to the reports of delegations on the implementation of the convention, and spoke at the ¡°Sports Corruption¡± session, introducing the football corruption and anti-corruption in China.


After the convention, Professor He Jiahong gave lectures at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg, Germany. The theme was ¡°China¡¯s Anti-Corruption Strategy¡±, and then participated in the conference of the FIFA Ethics Committee in Zurich.
