Appointments:He has more than 25 years' experience as an international commercial litigation and arbitration lawyer in London and Bermuda. He has been involved in:
• litigation in the United States, Hong Kong SAR, France and Switzerland as well as England and Bermuda and
• arbitrations in London, Bermuda (UNCITRAL Model law) and the United States (AAA and ad hoc).

These involved a wide variety of commercial disputes including:
• disputes concerning insurance and reinsurance policies;
• defending professional firms against claims (for example, accountants, actuaries, brokers and advertising and film production companies);
• recoveries on behalf of liquidators of insolvent companies;
• disputes concerning the management and ownership of companies. In Bermuda this also included disputes involving companies that carried on their business in China while incorporated in Bermuda and also involving issues of Chinese law.

In London, he was also involved in drafting insurance and reinsurance contracts for insurance and reinsurance companies and Lloyd's Syndicates. This included developing insurance products for technology, media and internet-based companies.

Harbour Assurance Co. (UK) Ltd v Kansa General International Insurance Co. Ltd (1993 QB 701)
The jurisdiction of arbitrators where there is alleged illegality (Court of Appeal, England).

Broadsino Finance Co Ltd v Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd. and others [2005] Bda L.R. 12
Shareholder dispute concerning the ownership of a mainland China car manufacturer that was incorporated in Bermuda (Court of Appeal, Bermuda). After the successful dismissal of the action in Bermuda, I then assisted the client*s US lawyers in the successful dismissal of related litigation in the Federal Courts of Washington D.C (see Yang Rong v. Liaoning Provincial Government, 452 F.3d 883 (D.C. Cir. 2006)).

Shareholder dispute concerning the management of a Bermuda company with businesses in Asia and with litigation in Bermuda and Hong Kong SAR. (Court of Appeal, Bermuda).

Asset Managers Co Ltd and another v Pacific Electric Wire & Cable Co Ltd (2007) HKCFI 243
Dispute concerning the interpretation of a shareholder agreement (Court of First Instance, Hong Kong SAR).
