Over the past 50 years the Law School has nurtured more than 10,000 regular law students, and has trained more than 300,000 students either by correspondence or by allowing them to study alongside regular students. Many of them have become well known jurists, and have become the backbone in governmental units relating to political science and law. According to statistics among the Law School graduates in the past there are roughly about 20 of who are high-ranking officials in the provincial level or above.Over 500 of them are middle-ranked in various government positions. Namely, Xiao Yang who is President of the Supreme People's Court and Chief Justice. Zhu Mingshan is First Class Justice. Both are graduates of the Law School . With cooperation from the Supreme People's Court since 1998 the Law School has held judicial training classes for senior judges every year, and has trained thousands or presidents and heads of different divisions in a variety of courts. It is safe to say that one can find graduates from the Law School in most of the higher courts, intermediate courts, and the Supreme People's Court as well as in various divisions in these courts. As one of them, Song Yushi is a judge from Haidian District Court in Beijing . He is considered one of the “ten Excellent Judges” in China and a model in the cause of establishing the construction of governing capacity for a CPC member as made by the Central Committee of the CPC.

In the field of legal education there are also many elite graduates from the Law School . Among them, four are presidents of various universities. Over 300 are professors. Two have been awarded as being among “the Hundreds of Famous Teachers in Universities (Fang Shaokun and Yao Jianzong)” During the First National Excellent PhD thesis competition held by the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council there was only one law thesis considered to be an Excellent PhD Thesis. This belonged to Wu Handong, a RUC Law School graduate with a PhD degree and the President of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. In the second and third competition of this kind there were also three graduates from the Law School who got the prize(Tian HongJie, Zhang Zhihui and Lili). In the fourth competition of the Excellent Young Jurists conducted by the China Law Society there were five faculty members from the Law Scholl and 4 alumni who got the prize(Gong Pixiang, Wu DaHua, Tan Shigui, Qiu Xinglong). In the third competition of the Excellent Teachers in Universities made by the Ministry of Education there were 3 faculty members and 2 alumni who got the prize(Chen XingLiang and Wu Dahua).
