The School of Law of Renmin University of China enjoys rich teaching resources, and has a good reputation in the field of law. There are more than 50 professors and tutors.Two of whom are members of the Discipline Education and Judgment Group of the Degree Committee of the State Council. More than 50 teachers have assumed the key offices of academic organizations, either international or domestic. More than 1000 books on jurisprudence have been published, and thousands of papers have been issued.In addition, the School of Law has undertaken a large number of national projects, and has shared numerous awards given to law schools. Meanwhile, the School of Law has also invited more than 60 international jurists and domestic celebrities as honorary professors or adjunct professors, thereby promoting the development and improvement of academic reseach.

The School of Law has been designated an official place as a leading member of the Instruction committee of the Law Science Teaching of National Higher Education institution of the Ministry of Education and as a leading member of the Law Science Research Branch of the China Law Science Society. Five professors were successively elected as being among the “Ten Brilliant Young and Middle-age Jurists.” This has been sponsored four times by the China Law Science Society. Three professors were awarded the title of “Excellent Young Teachers in Universities and Colleges” which was organized by the Ministry of Education. Furthermore the Law School of RUC enjoys the top position regarding the number of professors who have been awarded in several activities, such as “Recipient of a Doctoral Degree who has made outstanding contributions” as organized by the Ministry of Education. Young or Middle-age Leading Personnel of Legal Science in the new era,” as co-sponsored by the Ministry of Personnel and the Ministry of Education. Furthermore they have been awarded as being a” Governmental Special Allowance Deserver,” as issued by the State Council.

Rich teaching resources lay the strong foundation for the development of academic study in the School of Law . The School of Law is one of the first four units having the power to award academic disciplines approved by the Degree Committee of the State Council. At present, among the nine degrees of the discipline category of the Degree Committee of the State Council, the School of Law has nine master degrees and doctoral degrees respectively, namely, Legal Theory, the History of Law, the Constitution and Administrative Law, Criminal Law, Civil and Business Law, Procedural Law, Economic Law, Environmental Law, and International Law. There are three national key subjects in the School of Law . They are Constitutional and Administrative Law, Criminal Law, and Civil and Business Law. Moreover, there are one undergraduate subject(Jurisprudence), one second bachelor subject(Intellectual Property Law), one J.M. Degree, one key innovation base of the national 985 project, two key research bases on humanities and social science of the Ministry of Education, one station for post-doctoral degrees on law(containing all legal subjects). The School of Law ranks no.1 among all law schools and scientific research institutes in China in the number of national key disciplines and the quality of academic studies.
