Established at the Law School in 1998, the China Law Information Center is the only program of legal research in the National 211 Project (The Project is to provide substantial support and funding to 100 selected key universities in China by the Ministry of Education.) Dean Zeng Xianyi is the representative of the China Law Information Center project and Dr. Guo He is the Director. With a strong infrastructure and information network, the center's Local Area Network is wired to the University Campus Network, the China Education and Research Network, and to the World Wide Web. It provides legal information to the country and the world. The center is equipped with multi-media classrooms.
The China Law Information Program is divided into three parts. Part I is the legislation information system, which includes statutes made by the National People's Congress and its Standing Committee. It also includes administrative laws and regulations promulgated by the State Council, local regulations, and the legislation of HK SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan. It also contains information on the background, application and status of statutes and regulations. Part II is the enforcement information system, which includes China judicial cases, judicial interpretation, arbitration information, mediation information and prison management information. Part III is the legal education and research information system, which contains CAI for all areas of legal study, electronic editions of Jurists' Review and Law School News.
