ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION
International students must formally register at the time specified in the Admission Notice.Students who are unable to register on time must write a letter to the International Students Office for late arrival permission. (Fax: +86-10-62512698, E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org) Those who fail to register without the prior consent will be considered as voluntarily giving up their enrollment.

2. Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202/JW201) (Except for those holding F visa or residence permit)
3. The originals of “Physical Examination Record for Foreigner”, blood test reports of AIDS and Syphilis, and X-ray report (Except for those holding F visa or residence permit)
5. 5 pieces of passport-size photos

International students may apply for Chinese Visa at the Chinese Embassy/Consulate. When applying for the visa, please remember to bring along with the passport, the Admission Notice and a Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201/JW202 form). Do make sure that the Admission Noticeand JW201/JW202 form is handed back with the passport after obtaining the Chinese visa. These documents are necessary for Residence Permit application after arrival in Beijing.
Students studying for more than half an year are required to obtain a "X" visa and must apply for aResidence Permit within 30 days of arrival in order to obtain a legal status in China at Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau. Students are discouraged from arriving in China too early since the application for a Residence Permit won,t be processed until you are registered as a student in RUC.Students studying for half a year or less are required to obtain an "F" visa and "F"visa holders are not required to apply for residence permit.
Students who want to live on campus please fax the "Room Reservation Notice" to theAccommodation Service Office (Tel: +86-10-62516570; Fax: +86-10-82503204) after receiving the Admission Notice. Since the number of rooms may not be adequate to host all international students, we strongly recommend students apply ASAP after the admission.Students could also choose to live off-campus if there is any appropriate apartment available. Students may find accommodation off-campus by visiting local real estate agents.
There are several banks near the campus where international students can open a bank account after arrival in Beijing. We recommend students open an account in Bank of China.Many banks in Beijing accept Traveler,s Checks, however as it takes many working days to process the checks, we recommend students prepare some cash on hand to cover the short-term expenses.With a bank account in Beijing, students may wire-transfer money to this bank account. To be on a safe side, we recommend students prepare some cash on hand to cover the short-term expenses as it takes several working days for the transfer to be completed.

Transportation to campus from Capital Airport:
The Beijing Capital International Airport is about 40km away from the campus. There are several options of transportation from the airport to the campus. The International Students Buildings and the International Culture Exchange Center are located in the southern part of the campus, near the East Gate. The International Students Office is on the first floor of International Culture Exchange Center.
The most convenient way to get to RUC from the airport is by taxi. The regular taxi meter-rate is 2 RMB/km. It will cost you around 120 RMB to get to the university from the airport. The cab should enter the campus through the North Gate and drive to International Culture Exchange Center. It will take approximately 1 hour to the campus from the airport. Please keep the receipt for possible inquiry for forgotten belongs in the future.
The nearest stop to RUC is the Friendship Hotel stop on airport shuttle bus Line 4. The east gate of campus is about 5-minute walk north from the stop. The airport shuttle fare is 16RMB/person and takes approximately 1 hour to the stop from the airport. For more details of the airport shuttle, please visit:http://en.bcia.com.cn/
The nearest subway station is Renmin Daxue on Line 4. Students may take Airport Line (RMB25.00) at Terminal 3 or 2, transfer to line 10(RMB2.00) at Sanyuanqiao (三元桥) Station, then transfer to line 4 at Haidian Huangzhuang（海淀黄庄）station, and finally get off at Renmin Daxue(人民大学) station. The east gate of campus is about 2-minute walk north from the station.
Open a Bank Account:
To facilitate the study life in Beijing, we recommend new students open a bank account soon after arrival. It will be very convenient to pay for such expenses as tuition fees with a UnionPay card.There are several banks near the campus where international students can open a bank account with the passport. The nearest branch of Bank of China is on the first floor of Wenhua Plaza which is about 2-minute walk north from the East Gate of the campus.
Every student must have appropriate insurance throughout the duration of study. The insurance must at least cover accidental injuries and hospitalization. The International Students Office recommends students take the ‘Comprehensive Insurance Plan for Foreigners’ in China. Students not wishing to take the ‘Comprehensive Insurance Plan for Foreigners’ must present an equivalent insurance certificate on arrival. Please note that it must be written either in English or Chinese language. Students without insurance must take the ‘Comprehensive Insurance Plan for Foreigners’. The insurance fee is RMB600 for one year and RMB300 for half a year. Students who are not medically insured are not allowed to register.
Students must have paid the tuition fees on registration. The university only accepts payment in RMB. Students could pay the tuition fees in cash or via UnionPay Card.Students who would like to pay the tuition fee via UnionPay Card should open a bank account in a local bank at Beijing and apply for a UnionPay Card. The UnionPay Card functions as a Debit Card and is commonly used in China.Students who would like to pay the tuition fee in cash should convert the foreign currencies into RMB first.
